    Profile

    Winner, Lysenko National Ukraine Piano Competition. Appearances with orchestras in Kiev, Lvov, and Tbilissi. Solo and chamber music performances in Kiev, Lvov, Tbilissi, Warsaw, and Prague. U.S. solo and chamber music performances in New York, Los Angeles, and Boston. Performed at the Camerino and Elba Summer Chamber Music Festivals (Italy). Former faculty, Lvov State College of Music and the Special Music High School for Gifted Children (Lvov). Faculty, Mannes Preparatory Division since 1988.

    Irina Edelmans' students have received high honors and won first prize at competitions such as Young Pianists Competition of New Jersey, the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, the CCNY Young Musicians/Artists Competition in Staten Island, the Cultural Heritage Competition at Queens College, etc. and have performed at Merkin Hall, Carnegie Recital Hall, and Steinway Hall. Her students have been accepted at schools such as Julliard, Manhattan School of Music, Peabody Conservatory, New England Conservatory, Oberlin Conservatory, Mannes College of Music, etc.

    Irina Edelman graduated with honors from Lvov Conservatory where she was a student of Alexander Eydelman, Chairman of the Piano Department and widely recognized as a major contributor to the Russian piano school. She also studied with Alexander Jocheles (Moscow).
