Media Studies at The New School

  • Founded in 1975, the Media Studies program at The New School was the first media studies MA program in the United States and quickly attracted media makers, thinkers, and innovators. The New School established the School of Media Studies in 2011, bringing together and expanding its offerings to include graduate programs in media management and documentary studies and an undergraduate degree in media studies. The school’s tradition of challenging students to transcend convention made it a center of creative experimentation. Its programs are now housed at Parsons School of Design, opening up exciting opportunities for students to collaborate with a community of creators from around the world.
