Intimate Dysfunctions is a remake of Fiona Roberts’ work
Intimate Vestiges
, which explores the dysfunctional relationships between the human body, the mind, and the space the body occupies. I used a variety of materials such as clay, paint, string, and digital programs to re-create Roberts' eerie, lifelike installation. The hair, made of thread, pays homage to the concept of intimacy. The wallpaper, created with images of real human organs, questions the disconnect between the body and the space in which it exists. The organs suggest the anxiety experienced in an unfamiliar environment. The two sculptural paintings, partially connected with hair, further investigate the dysfunctional relationship between the body and the mind.
