TECHNICAL FASHION DESIGNER - FASHION DESIGN TEACHER
Prof.Betti Bindi has been a part-time professor in the School of Fashion at Parsons since 2010.
She primarily teaches sophomore and junior-level BFA students, but has additionally taught classes @ Pre-College Parsons Academy, Parsons First Year and served as a patternmaker and 3D consultant for the MFA Fashion Design and Society since its creation in 2012.
Since 2014 Prof. Betti Bindi serves also as a part-time professor at the School of Fashion at the Pratt Institute. In the course of these years at Pratt, she has been teaching freshman /sophomore/junior and senior classes.
During the Summer she has been teaching Technical fashion design classes in Lagos - Nigeria (2014) Shanghai (2017) Beijing (2019)
Before starting her career in teaching Prof.Betti Bindi has worked in increasingly high-level technical design positions at companies such as Emanuel Ungaro, Missoni Spa, Calvin Klein and Prada/Miu Miu.
Her most recent collaborations as a technical designer have been with Area Studio NYC and Lou Dallas in New York City.
Beginning in the Fall 2020 Prof.Betti Bindi started to teach a Clo 3d (3D Software) class applied to her junior Specialized Studio class at Parsons.
In this class she merged traditional design / pattern making and sewing instructions with the instructions on how to use the most advanced 3D design software system, increasingly more popular in the fashion design industry, allowing in this way her students to experience the perfect online teaching experience.
EDUCATION
Prof. Betti Bindi received her bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from Accademia d’Alta Moda e D’Arte del Costume Koefia in Rome Italy and an associate degree in Pattern Making/Grading from Istituto Secoli in Milan Italy.
Floriana is fluent in English, Italian and French and has a conversational level of knowledge of Spanish.
