  • The Master of Science degree in Strategic Design and Management is awarded for completion of 36 credits. Transfer credits are not accepted. Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and fulfill all requirements in a timely manner.

The program features a progressively sequenced curriculum including theory and practice through studios and seminars and involving three major components:

    • Design-based methods for researching the needs of people and organizations and for developing and prototyping new ideas for products, services, and organizations
    • Business tools for assessing market opportunities, modeling enterprises, and critically evaluating firms and industry sectors
    • Theoretically informed discussions of challenges facing contemporary societies and ways in which ethically grounded professional leadership can help students engage with these challenges in their careers

The curriculum is designed as an integrated and dynamic nine-credit-per-semester course of study. Students can complete the program on campus in New York City, fully online, or through a combination of online and on-campus courses. (For international students, the possibility of combining on-campus and online classes is limited by U.S. immigration law, which requires full-time international students to take a minimum of six credits of on-site instruction in order to maintain their full-time status and immigration privileges.)
