• Congratulations on your decision to join our community, and welcome to The New School! This page is designed to acquaint you with the important steps you need to take for a successful start to your New School journey.

One of the key ways we support your transition to the university is through Narwhal Compass, The New School’s First-Year Experience (FYE) program. Narwhal Compass guides you from the moment you commit to the university through your crucial first 50 days on campus. It provides a structured yet flexible journey that helps you engage, build community, and connect with essential resources. Learn more about the components of Narwhal Compass below.
