• Counseling sessions are offered online through HIPAA-compliant Zoom and in person at Student Health Services (SHS). We offer short-term flexible counseling and supportive services provided by our counselors. During your first appointment (also called a brief assessment), you and a counselor will make a plan for treatment based on your current needs. The first appointment will be a telehealth visit. Please note that you must be located in New York State to schedule a telehealth appointment. If longer-term or specialized treatment is needed, the counselor can help you find an appropriate treatment option in your local community. SHS has In Person Brief Crisis Consultation Appointments, Monday through Friday between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Please arrive no later than 2:45 p.m. Students can seek support from counselors for urgent matters.

To schedule your first session, visit the Student Health Services Portal. For general questions about counseling, email [email protected].

Telehealth booths are available on campus at 39 West 13th Street, 2nd floor. To reserve a booth click here: https://student-reservations.newschool.edu/reserve/spaces/studentunion.

In-person appointments are offered at Student Health Services, 80 Fifth Avenue, 3rd floor.

Please Note: You must complete the self-check-in process on the SHS Portal before each telehealth counseling session. Please follow the Self-Check-In Instructions to complete this process.
